Story behind the artwork

There is a long, storied tradition in art of drawing inspiration from the human form. For centuries, the female figure has been an endless source of study, but for this piece, I wanted to move away from literal representation and explore the power of abstraction.

Pose was created during a period of experimentation where I began to strip away the unnecessary, focusing instead on the strength of a single silhouette. I wanted to capture the elegance and flow of the body using only the most essential lines. By reducing the figure to an abstract form, the sculpture becomes less about a specific person and more about the universal energy and grace of the pose itself.

As a free-standing sculpture, Posing is designed to be viewed from multiple angles, with each perspective offering a slightly different curve or shadow. It was created specifically for interior spaces, where it can interact with the quiet atmosphere of a home or gallery, serving as a subtle yet firm reminder of the beauty found in simplicity.
