  • The Opportunity: Founded by the Guild of St George and administered by Parker Harris, the 9th John Ruskin Prize is one of the UK’s most respected multidisciplinary art competitions. Up to 80 shortlisted artists are selected for a major public exhibition at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London (running 28 January – 21 February 2027).

  • The "Lighthouse" Advantage: This prize explicitly celebrates craftsmanship, material sensitivity, and physical making. Unlike prizes biased toward pure concept, the jury actively seeks artists working across painting, sculpture, metalwork, ceramics, mixed media, textiles, and installation.

  • The Benefits:

    • £9,500 Total Prize Pool: £3,000 First Prize, £3,000 Ruskin Mill Trust Prize (celebrating material skill & functional craft), £2,500 Chelsea Arts Club Award, and £1,000 Under-26 Award.

    • Major London Group Exhibition: High-footfall physical showcase inside the historic Chainstore / Buoy Store at Trinity Buoy Wharf.
