The International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture (Poland)
Maker Level: Intermediate to Professional. Deadline: Midday on Wednesday 15th July 2026.
THE LIGHTHOUSE
⚒️ The Showcase: The International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture (Poland)
Category: The Showcase / International Maker Symposium & Residency
The Opportunity: The Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko is running an international open call for its 7th Edition Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture. They are selecting a small group of professional international artists to participate in a high-intensity, two-week live workspace residency to execute large-scale, site-specific public works.
The Thematic Focus: The theme is "The Measure of Memory". The finished monuments are built specifically to be permanently displayed outdoors in the massive, picturesque Orońsko sculpture park landscape for a minimum of two years.
The "Lighthouse" Advantage: This is not a typical visual arts gallery. The Centre operates dedicated specialized heavy infrastructure studios, including specialist foundry and black forge facilities. Their dedicated in-house technical staff provides direct fabrication support, crane operations, and heavy installation assistance. For a sculptor-blacksmith who manipulates unyielding metals and needs industrial workspace capabilities, it is a premier European stage.
The Financials/Benefits: Fully supported. The institution provides free accommodation at the Sculptor’s House, complete access to specialized heavy tools, expert workshop technicians, and a direct gross payment remuneration fee of PLN 9,000.00 for the artwork execution.
Maker Level: Intermediate to Professional.
Deadline: Midday on Wednesday 15th July 2026.
The "Gate-Crasher" Status:
The Portal: The full brief guidelines and formal submission sheets are buried in structural text files on the official institution platform at rzezba-oronsko.pl.
The "Fail-Safe" Key: The selection jury prioritizes physical execution and technical feasibility within the short time window over purely theoretical, unbuildable concepts.
Direct Action: Assemble your proposal around a clear technical breakdown of your material weights and layout requirements.
Direct Contact: Submit your visual blueprint package, project description, and process portfolio (max 10MB PDF format) straight to the curatorial office channels.
The stories behind my artwork, the opportunities in The Lighthouse, and the reflections of the Morning Muse are my ways of keeping the lamp lit for our creative community. These resources will always be free to access. If they have found you at the right time, consider fueling the forge to help keep the fire burning. Your support, in any amount, is deeply appreciated.
