Story behind the artwork

Thoughts is a pivotal work in my collection. It was created using my signature "oil and fire" technique, but with a new objective: I wanted to see if I could maintain technical control over the metal while completely letting go of the mental outcome.

The piece is a physical representation of how ideas enter our consciousness. If you have ever practiced meditation, you know the sensation of trying to quiet the mind. For years, I never studied esoteric techniques or followed a specific school of thought. But one day, almost by accident, I experienced a moment of total mental silence. I learned how to "turn off" the constant stream of daily noise.

Since that moment, I have been able to enter this state of meditation anywhere—at the anvil, in the street, or in the studio. I’ve realized that thoughts are like a stream flowing from an unknown window or another space entirely. When you stop trying to control them, the "toxic smog" of daily stress fades away. Your mind becomes cleaner, more open, and ready to receive.

The Artist as Executor: This shift in my personal life has fundamentally changed my art. I no longer feel the need to labor over sketches or rigid plans. Instead, I open my mind and act as the "executor" for whatever needs to flow through me at that moment. I don’t consciously influence the style; I simply allow the decisions to be made through my hands.

This piece, Thoughts, captures that flow. It is a snapshot of a mind that is no longer crowded, but open—a gateway between the unseen idea and the finished iron.
