Story behind the artwork

Tree Light comes from a period of my work where I was searching for a balance between pure abstraction and practical decoration. I wanted to create a piece that felt like a sculpture first, but could also serve a functional purpose within a home.

The concept was to take the organic, complex silhouette of a tree and refine it into an abstract form. It allowed me to take my traditional blacksmithing techniques—manipulating heavy iron into fluid, growing shapes—and apply them to a modern design. The result is a structure that feels alive, even in its stillness.

The lighting element was integrated to transform the sculpture as the sun goes down. During the day, it is a bold, industrial statement piece; at night, the light creates shadows that extend the "branches" across the room. While this specific version is fitted with an interior light, the entire structure is robust enough to be adapted for outdoor use. With a simple change to an exterior-grade fixture, the Tree Light can transition from a living room centerpiece to a glowing guardian in a garden or courtyard.
