Story behind the artwork

A Decade of Growth "Some partnerships are like the plants I forge—they grow stronger and more intricate over time. For over ten years, I have worked with a client who has become one of my favorites. We have collaborated on countless architectural projects, from grand gates to delicate garden accents, but there is one motif that connects them all: The Ivy."

The Creative Dialogue "When she approached me for this specific commission, the idea was already planted in her mind. She knew she wanted a structure that breathed with the garden. As an artist, my role was to take her seed of an idea and give it branches. I prepared several sketches, exploring different rhythms and densities of the leaves, until we found the perfect balance."

The Final Form "The version she chose—the Trellis of Leaves—is the culmination of our decade-long dialogue. It’s not just a support for a plant; it is a permanent, hand-forged reflection of nature itself. Using the ivy motif allowed me to play with organic curves and shadows, ensuring that even in the dead of winter, the garden feels alive with the spirit of the forest."

The Signature Motif "This project taught me the power of a recurring theme. By revisiting the ivy leaf across different gardens and gates, I’ve learned how to make steel feel soft, climbing, and ever-changing. It’s more than a trellis; it’s a story of trust that has been growing for ten years."
