Story behind the artwork
Not every piece in the studio begins with a grand vision or a deep emotional narrative. Sometimes, a work is born simply from the rhythm of the workshop and the raw materials left over from larger projects.
Wall Lights was created in one of those moments of pure productivity. At the time, I was working alongside a young apprentice in the forge. He was a fan of heavy metal music, and I often let him play his favorite tracks while we worked. There is a specific kind of energy that comes from the combination of hammers hitting anvils and the driving beat of metal music—it’s loud, industrial, and raw.
Inspired by that atmosphere, I began gathering the "scraps" of iron scattered around the anvil. Instead of letting them go to waste, I wanted to see if I could capture that workshop energy in a decorative form.
The result is a set of wall-mounted lights that don't try to be overly poetic. They are exactly what they look like: honest, rugged pieces of iron transformed into functional decor. They serve as a reminder that even the smallest "leftovers" from a busy day in the forge can be turned into something that brings light and character to a room.
The stories behind my artwork, the opportunities in The Lighthouse, and the reflections of the Morning Muse are my ways of keeping the lamp lit for our creative community. These resources will always be free to access. If they have found you at the right time, consider fueling the forge to help keep the fire burning. Your support, in any amount, is deeply appreciated.
