The Pressure to "Perform" We live in an age where your work is almost invisible unless you’re constantly "performing" it online. There is this crushing pressure to turn everything we do into a 60-second clip. To chase the algorithm, to chase the views, to chase the "like."

And I see so many artists—people with incredible talent—start to lose their way. They get stuck in the loop. They start asking, "Will this go viral?" instead of, "Does this piece say what I need to say?" They start worrying that if they aren't 'seen' by millions, they aren't succeeding.

I’ve felt that too. It’s the fear that if the metrics don’t go up, the art doesn't matter.

The Core: The Reason We Start But let me remind you—and I’m reminding myself today—why we start.

I don't forge steel or paint landscapes because I’m looking for fame. I don't do it to see a number climb on a screen. I do it because my soul needs to speak. The work is the expression. That’s the point. That’s the only point.

Anything else—the earnings, the recognition, the "clout"—those are just byproducts. They are things that might happen after the work is done, but they can never be the reason to do the work. If you make art for the sake of the outcome, you’ve already lost the joy of the process.

Why I Built The Lighthouse That’s why I started The Lighthouse and these morning talks.

I’m not doing this for prizes. I’m not doing this for a pat on the back. I’m doing it because I see a lot of talented people getting lost in the noise, feeling like they have to "sell out" to get ahead. I want to share what I find—the leads, the opportunities, the ways to bypass the glitches—because I want you to have the freedom to focus on the work itself.

I’m sharing this because I believe in the community of makers. I’m giving back because it’s the right thing to do. If it helps one person get their work out into the world, that’s all the reward I need.

Closing: The Invitation So, if you’re sitting there, staring at your tools, wondering if it’s "worth it" because the views aren't there yet—stop.

Go back to the workbench. Go back to the canvas. Create the thing that you need to see in the world. If you create with integrity, you’ll never be lost, even if the algorithm doesn't notice you.

We are not here to be "content creators." We are here to be creators. Period.

Everything else… that’s just noise.
